URE. 1. A Yorkshire river. 2. Eur occurs as a personal name in Domesdaj ; and an early Scandinavian gave his name to Ureby, or Ewerby, in Lincolnshire. 3. The baronial family of Eure took their name, in the XIII. century, from the lordship of Eure or Evre, in Buckinghamshire.
