The British Surnames website aims to give an overview of the history and some statistical data of the vast majority of surnames found in Great Britain.
For contrast, we also include the equivalent data from the 1881 census of Great Britain, so you can see how the popularity and distribution of your surname has changed over the years.
This is an updated version of a website which was originally launched in 2007. The current version has improved graphics, and some of the statistical information has been recalculated with the benefit of some additional data sources.
