A collector of toll. In Dutch, Taalman is an interpreter, from Taal, language, tongue. "Constantine Tolmaen," in Cornwall, is an ancient place of Druid worship. Tolmaen is usually applied to a stone that is perforated, from tol, a hole, and maen, a stone; twll mwn, Welsh, a mine, shaft, or pit.
