STRING. Perhaps a contraction of Stringer. Mr. Bov■ditch informs us that tivo daughters of Mr. String, of S. Carolina, hitely eloped with one person (1857.) Thus was made good the proverbial remark — '• Tivo Strings to one Beau.''
