RODES. Tiiis family claim from Gerard de Rodes, a feudal iDaron, whose caput baronias was Horncastle, co. Lincoln. He lived in the reigns of Henry II., Richard I., John, and Henry III. The place from which the name was assumed does not aj)pear.
