Patronymica Britannica (1860)

RHIND. The name occurs in the Chartulary of Moray early iu the XIII. cent., and it has been variously spelt Rhynd, Rhiud, Rynd, and Rind. It is doubtless territorial, and derifcd either from the parish of Rhj-nd, co. Perth, or from the estate of Rhind, in Fifeshire. Inf. A. H. Rhind, Esq. F.S.A.
