NORRIS. Anciently written Le Nereis, Norres, Noreys, &c., and in Latin charters, Noricus, Noreusis, ire. It is widely spread both in Normandy and England, and may imply either NoTth-cotintrijman or the NorKegiaii. Ormerod's Miscell. Palatina, p. G.
