London church registers contain further early instances: the christening of Christopher Lyddell in 1582 at St. Margaret’s, Lothbury; of Elizabeth Lidle in 1609 at St. Mary’s, Whitechapel, Stepney; and of Frances Liddle in 1737 at St. George in the East.
