LEADER. Probably the same as AA'aterleder (wliich occurs as a surname in the Nonfc) whatever that may mean. Halliwell says, ' a water-carrier,' but I am disposed to think a leader of water, i.e., a drainer, or an irrigator of land, or perhaps a conduit-maker.
