JENNER
As described in historical dictionaries
Patronymica Britannica (1860)
JENNER. Pott, in his " Die Personcnuamen insbesondere die Familiennameu," (Leipzig, 1853), considers this name a corruption of the classical Januarius; but I think the medieval giiwur, a craftsman, engineer, or clever workman, a much likelier origin — a man of genius {Ingcnii) in any mechanical business. Waldinus lugeuiator (the engineer) occurs in the Domesday of Lincolnshire, as a tenant in chief.
